Informaciones Psiquiátricas 2025 - nº 259 53 and neurodevelopmental disorders. Consideration should also be given to possible rare biological sex alterations, as well as other disorders. It is commonly understood that some of the above disorders are caused by abnormal brain functionality, which may be more or less complex and affect the related set of aberrant neural networks of certain sensory, central, executive and vegetative phenomena that will necessarily affect interest and seductive activity. Thus, what is now called functional neurological pathology or psychopathology involves the dysregulated concerted action of different areas of the brain. This is also relevant for a hypothetical dimensional psychopathological perspective (60), which is far from being scientifically recognised and official, as well as for planning the best treatment and regulating affectivity, desire, seductive capacity and sexuality. Somatoform symptoms are commonly found in body distress disorder and psychogenic pruritus disorder, both of which also belong to the ICD-11 group of mental disorders. Body image is an important feature in patients with these disorders (61). Compulsive sexual behaviour disorder, within the category of impulse control disorders, is likely to be comorbid with mood and other disorders (62). But seeking appropriate medical care is not always commensurate with the high frequency of these pathologies. Often, depending on the country and culture, medical care is replaced by traditional and local healers who make standardised use of mystical and superstitious beliefs (63). Among what could be considered related contemporary female myths is that of continuous seduction, mentioned in the first sub-section. This seductive form may be the psychopathological expression of a compulsion, literally understood as vehement and irrepressible passion. As has also been said here before, it is characteristic of certain pathophysiological profiles, which was already described in the biopsychological essays of the eminent Gregorio Marañón (1887–1960) about the sexual archetypes (mentioned in the introduction) representing the very shy Amiel (he was referring to the 19th century philosopher Henri Frédéric Amiel) and the extroverted Don Juan Tenorio, by Tirso de Molina (64). Amiel was prone to social anxiety disorders and Don Juan’s characteristics are typical of antisocial and narcissistic personalities, the latter types being incorporated into the currently unspecified personality disorders. Conclusions Seductive activity in any field, as well as its results, is a matter of great public and private interest. Social acceptance requires some normative respect and mutual consensus, with the quite likely existence of some ambivalence and uncertainty and the possibility of unexpected consequences.
